Please help me raise $1500 by August 9th!

Unfortunately, my beloved Volvo has died, and needs another engine. I have my eye on another Volvo that I want to drive up to New York City when I move there this fall. If you can donate $1 or $5 or as much as you want, anything will help. I have a goal of $1500 by August 9th. I am car-less at the moment and need to get the car as quick as I can.

The reason why I have my mind set on a particular Volvo, is that it is my mechanic’s car and he has taken really good care of it. Here is the link to go donate:

Thanks so much!

Carie

New Orleans

Tonight I arrived in New Orleans, LA. It was an impromptu trip a friend of mine (Sarah) decided to take, and asked me to tag along. The giddy-ness abounded and I jumped at the chance to see New Orleans 4.5 years after Hurricane Katrina hit.
After nine hours of driving, we finally arrived at Brian Perkins’s condo safe and sound. You see, Brian is a photographer friend of Sarah’s and he will be photographing her tomorrow in his studio in the French Quarter. He has given us the true Louisiana welcome by slow cooking red beans and rice and quenching our thirst with some more than ample spirits.
I am thoroughly excited, as he made a promise to make time and take us to the 9th ward where much of the devastation still exists from the hurricane. I can’t wait to document it all!
The only down side, I think I may have forgotten my Camera’s battery chargers.
